The parable of the Good Samaritan isn't primarily about identifying who our neighbor is. It's about allowing God's Word to examine our own hearts. In Luke 10:25-37, Jesus redirects the conversation from asking who deserves our love to asking what kind of people we are becoming.
• Jesus exposes our tendency to judge others instead of examining ourselves.
• The Good Samaritan shows that loving our neighbor begins with becoming the kind of person who reflects God's compassion.
• Following Jesus means letting His love shape our character so that mercy becomes our natural response.
