Jesus often works in ways we don't expect. In Luke 9:37-50, the disciples repeatedly misunderstand what Jesus is teaching, relying on their own strength, chasing status, and drawing unnecessary lines between people. Through each moment, Jesus redirects their attention back to Himself, showing that real faith begins with humble dependence, childlike trust, and confidence in His wisdom instead of our own.
